A New Year

Hello there! And Happy New Year! It's been a busy winter break over here, and now that the kids are back in school I'm trying to sort out the year ahead. I have some pretty exciting things coming up this year that I cannot wait for, including a trip to visit all of you Australians! More on that soon!

While winter break was a lot of fun (see above) and a whole lot of crazy, I didn't get in nearly enough sewing time, so hopefully I'll be able to make up for that in the next few weeks. I did manage to finish up my APQ Quilt Along quilt top, so as soon as I get that back from my quilter I'll be sure to show you. Which reminds me, I should send that off to the quilter...

Sorry for the grainy Instagram photo!

Anyway, I'm not sure if you've heard, but Carrie and Thelma were extra productive over the holdiays and made matching half-square triangle quilts using my Craftsy 25 HST blocks video.

Yep, this one where I look like a dork. :-)

They both used the greens and navys from April Showers and their quilts turned out so great!

You can read more about them on their blogs, but here is a peek at Carries:

And Thelmas:

I hear there are a few more of you who have them in the works too. I would sure love to see them if you do make them! And in case you don't want to watch the video 8 million times to figure them all out, here is a free link to a printable version of the blocks.

I hope you enjoy it!

So what are your sewing plans this year? I'm just getting started on this log cabin quilt from an old issue (Dec 2011) of APQ that Lissa designed. I was waiting for the perfect red for the centers (which turned out to be the red solid from Sweetwater's new line, Wishes) to be available and just ordered it yesterday. Can't wait!

Happy New Year!!
