Getting Crafty with Laura Ashley! #LauraAshleyCrafts
A couple of weeks back I attended the
Laura Ashley Craft Event in Bristol, organised by the team at the
Joe Blogs Blogger Network and
The Crafty Hen. It was a great excuse to hang out with some of my favourite local bloggers and have a good catch up with them. Most blog events are in London, so being a
Bristol blogger can have its drawbacks, but thankfully,
Laura Ashley wanted to get us South West-ers involved and it was a really fun day!
I'm not the most artistic person in the world, however even I could handle the first challenge. We were taught how to cover journals in pretty Laura Ashley prints and then personalise them with our own style. I made mine for my mum who was rather chuffed.

Dulcie What I'm wearing... Crop: New Look - Trousers: Oasis - Duster: F&F - Hat & Necklace: Next
I spent most of the day with
Emily and
Nicole having a good ole gossip and talking about work. I actually start a new job in a few weeks (huzzah) so stay tuned for more info on that once I'm settled in my new role. I'm extremely excited as I'm hoping it will be a perfect fit for me!
Our second
crafty challenge required a bit more skill as we made
Suffolk puffs and I miniature birdcage hair slide! I can't even sew a button on (luckily for me, Sam is very domesticated), so Emily had to help me through this one but I got there in the end. I was happy with the results and although I don't think it's something I'd actually wear myself, I've put it down as a was a great life lesson.

I absolutely adore Laura Ashley, some of my favourite homeware pieces are from them. I've also been featured on their blog twice recently, so it was nice to work with them on a slightly different project! We were also given cute goody bags with the nicest handwash on he planet!
Are you crafty? Do you like Laura Ashley's prints?
