Nkenge Brown

PT: Black Leather

In describing the beauty of leather, whether form-fitting or loose, faux or real, it always happens to make your outfit look upscale, clean and/or edgy.

Below are a few ways I would style BLACK leather pants, a skirt, and a jacket.

•Dressed Down•

Leather Pants are great to wear for early spring and fall. They’re appropriate for mildly cold weather and add a sexy and sleek edge to your outfits.

Adapt the black and white classic color scheme with a pop of metallic silver to amplify the look.

This outfit features TOPSHOP’S MOTO Faux Leather Fronted Leigh Jeans ($85), which are matte and slim fit enough to show off your curves. To add some height and a silver pop, Jeffrey Campbell’s Hollie Mesh Platform ($91), will do the trick and more, with it’s unique lucite chunky heel used for comfort and appeal.

Relax the look with a loose-breezy chiffon button-up and a monochrome statement necklace for a girly enhancement.

If you ever pass by a pair of leather jeggings or pants, in your size of course, be sure to buy them right away. They are currently on my long overdue wish list of items to buy for early Spring and Fall.

•Dressed Down (2)•

For another dress down look, try pairing a leather pleated skirt and/or a leather rucksack with a loose-fitting striped top for a relaxed preppy look.

You could also take a trip to the urban side by pairing a printed bomber jacket like Oblivion’s Bomber Jacket ($225) with a neon Aeropostale Basic Knit Beanie ($15), to personalize the look.

Strappy point heels, similar to Jeffrey Campbell’s Julio Bootie above, always add a flirty feel to any outfit.

Plus a pair of cute mirror glasses could never hurt.

You’ll be the talk of the party

•Dressy Casual•

Leather on leather is sexy and slightly intimidating. Just think Batman :s! Although we’re not going to such extremes, it is still a style worth trying.

There’s nothing like a cropped leather bustier, like Forever 21′s Daring Darling Crop Top, to dress up a simple outfit.

Erdem Jade floral-print nappa leather biker jacket ($5,100)

This jacket is one of the my most favorite leather jackets. Too bad it costs an arm and a leg! It’s unique and has definitely made its way to the top of my Dupe Search & Conquer list.
