And now, onto the FUN stuff. Let’s chat about my top three core building tips.

Honestly and truly, this graphic could not be more right! You guys – abs are NOT made in doing 1000 crunches a day, or spending all day, every day at the gym. I know plenty of gym rats who don’t have the core I do – and it’s for one reason and one reason only. Because they still eat CRAP!

#1 – Cut the crap! If you really want that tight, toned tummy you’ve got to give up those 3 diet soda’s a day, that bag of chips AND those snacky crackers you just have to have at 2pm. Start eating more protein to keep you full longer, and DRINK MORE WATER!

#2 – Do some kind of activity. It really doesn’t matter much what you do, so long as you DO IT! Take a look at your kiddos for example. Mine don’t spend ANY time doing situps, and each one of them has a better 6 pack than I do. You wanna know why? Because they keep active. They somersault on the floor, or tackle each other, or run around the yard like yahoos. The point is, just do SOMETHING active each and every day.

#3 – Drink Shakeology as a post workout drink. The healthy sugars in Shakeology will not only help you replenish your sugar levels without the post-sugar-high crash, but they will also as help to transport the protein into your muscles, making those abs poke through!

If you’re ready to get that core back into action, here are a few quick ways to get back on track:

  • Cut back on white flour and refined sugar
  • Drink Shakeology as a post-workout recovery supplement
  • Track your calories to make sure you’re eating less than you’re burning
  • Add lean protein to your diet such as chicken and fish
  • Increase your water intake
  • Decrease alcohol consumption

The bottom line: Multiple factors contribute to storing belly fat, but focusing on these three tips will make it easier for your body to reveal the flat abs you’ve always wanted!
