NBA 2K21 Next-Gen Features The City

The Next-Gen of NBA 2K21 has launched the brand-new The City, which replaces The Neighborhood. It's many, many times larger than the Neighboods of old. This guide shows players what is the city, the features of The City, and how the unlock The City.

What is the City?

Just like how the Park morphed into Neighborhood, the City is the next iteration of NBA 2K's virtual basketball community – just this time, it's much, much bigger.

Expect a variety of building and basketball courts that you can strut your stuff in.

Main features of The City

All new MyPlayers will start their journey at Rookieville. After earning their stripes by battling it out against other rookies, they will then be able to access the other parts of the City. As the name says, the all-new Event Center will be the venue for all events.

The City also features a quest system with NPCs, a series of single-player 3v3 games, and another line of quests that encourages you to explore the city and play games outside the Warehouse.

Garage Hoops is a simple yet cool addition. Players can challenge each other on courts across the city, playing 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, and HORSE as well. In addition, players can earn through VC multipliers on their first five games played there each day. Besides playing games to get VC, you can also buy them. U4GM is a reliable virtual currency trading platform, which is low-priced, fast, and safe, especially NBA 2k21 mt is being sold at a very low price.

The Gatorade Training Facility has also got a big revamp. The two-floor gym now has the training equipment on the first floor and on the top floor, players can now go up against their friends on Rental Courts.

Affiliations, this returning feature has to be the biggest addition. The four Affiliations are North Side Knights, South City Vipers, Beasts of the East, and Western Wildcats. Each Affiliation now has its own Mayor. The initial Mayors will be four influencers but later, there'll be elections every six weeks. As part of their affiliation, players can engage in Rival Day Conquests. This is where players invade other boroughs and take over their rivals' courts. Gaining control of courts will give their affiliation points, and by the end of the day, teams will be ranked according to these points. This ranking/seeding will then be used for Rival Day Championships. Rival Day Championships is the ultimate battle between the affiliations. Held in the Event Center, affiliations will take on each other to claim the crown of the City.

Other features of The City

Larger 4v4 and 5v5 courts, including a Kobe Bryant tribute court that features the late player's snakeskin design and a large mural overlooking the court.

After winning 10 Affiliation games, the reigning team's ball will catch on fire, acting as a sort of bat-signal to other players hoping to unseat the local champs.

Pink Diamond Plaza: A neon pink-infused court where the MyTeam Triple Threat mode is housed.

Apparel stores where you can purchase cosmetics for your player avatars. To no one's surprise, this will feature sports brands like Nike, Jordan, Adidas, and more.

NBA 2K21: How to Unlock The City?

To access The City, players will first need to start up a MyCareer session and go through all of the tutorial portions. Once this has been done players will eventually be able to access the MyCareer menu and scroll down until they see the option to enter The City. Sadly, they are unable to just drop right in at this time and will still need to put in some work.

By selecting that option though players will be taken to four outdoor basketball courts that they can play against other players on. To enter The City from here, players will need to take part in games until they can raise their MyRep level high enough until they can join an Affiliation. Affiliations require that the player reach the Pro 1 rank, but they will start at the Rookie 1 rank.

To raise their rank they will have to play against other basketball players on the blacktop. Three of these courts allow the player to engage in 3v3 games, whereas the fourth court allows them to play 1v1. By playing games players will earn points to boost their ranking, so they will just need to keep going until they are at the Pro 1 rank and can enter The City.

In addition to the city, there are a number of returning features and exciting new additions to the Next-Gen of NBA 2K21, click here to learn about them.
