Grinding wheels find their usage in metalworking. They are generally used to cut the other material with its abrasive materials and its bonds. The abrasive forms the major part of the wheel grinding function since that is the part that cuts the metal. There are various types of abrasive materials that find their usage in making the best wheel grinding equipment. This depends on the efficiency and the type of material that it will be working upon. This problem is solved by selecting the finer grit size. This is then followed by reducing the relative speed of the wheel and the work-piece.

The wet grinding process:

If the grinding is wet then the reason for coolant is not removing the chips from the work-piece and the wheel interface. It is possible that the wheel is being dressed excessively. This results in the creation of the grinding points that cannot handle the wheel surface and result in poor finish.

The distinct pattern of the chatter:

The distinct pattern of the work-piece causes various type of chatter. This results in the vibration in the machine producing some kind of resonance, basically resulting due to the changes in the grinding speed. To remove the forcing excitation, try going 10% faster or slower in machinery process.

Any type of burning:

Grinding machines result in many types of thermal damage. This can result in cosmetic discoloration, the hardness of the work-piece. It results in the distortion and the induction of the internal tensile stresses. Burning mainly results when grinding is done dry. It can also result in when wet grinding occurs since the coolant flow isn’t enough the carry away the heat.
