How many dental implants can be placed at one time?

A dental implant is a screw-like device used to replace missing teeth. The screw is made of titanium which fuses with the bone and acts like a tooth root substitute. Once the dental implant is stable, a ceramic tooth or teeth can be fixed on top of it.

Q1. What happens when a tooth is extracted?

After a tooth is extracted, the gums and the bone around it close first. This is called primary healing. Over 2-3 months the bone and gums continue to heal and strengthen.

As dental implants are placed under local anesthesia multiple dental implants can be placed at the same time. But to place 10-14 implants in one go, a patient may need sedation or general anesthesia.
