Scorpion Sealing Done Right

If you live anywhere in the Phoenix AZ area, you live with scorpions. The key is keeping them OUT of your living space. It's one thing to run into one in the garden but quite another to get stung while in YOUR bed.

In general terms, it's the Arizona Bark Scorpion that gets into our homes and other structures here in the Phoenix area. Out of the over 40 known species of scorpions in Arizona, it's the only one that can climb up a vertical surface. It can even cruise across a ceiling - upside down! Obviously, that means that they can show up in places that you least expect such as in your bed, shoes, clothing or clothes dryer.

A very good pest control service is probably called for if you have an on-going issue with scorpions but a professional Scorpion Sealing Service can make a tremendous difference as far as how many you find inside. If done correctly and with the proper materials, a Scorpions Sealing - or Home Seal - can provide a few additional benefits too:

1. It can reduce the amount of pesticides required to maintain control of scorpions and other pests inside of your home. I'm a big fan of anything that adds up to less pesticide usage.

2. It can help to reduce the amount of dust that gets into our homes and/or business's. Anyone who's ever lived in Arizona will tell you that the dust just Never. Stops. Coming....

3. It can eventually pay for itself in energy savings. energystar.gov recommends a home seal for energy savings and much of what we do for scorpion control applies for energy savings as well.

Tip: If you are being visited by our creepy little eight legged friends, shake out your clothing, shoes and bedding before use; position night lights in areas where you may need to walk at night such as from your bed to the bathroom; use sticky traps as a great non-toxic scorpion control tool; adjust/replace the weather stripping around all doors that either go outside or to the garage; last, but not least, teach your children what a scorpion looks like and to not touch but to tell you if they see one.

Hope this helps. Happy Hunting!
