What is Laylatul Qadr or Night of Power?

Verily, Ramadan is a great holy month than the other months. Many events have happened in the Ramadan but one event happened during the month of Ramadan which makes it special and this event is called Night of Power (Lailtul Qadar). At that time, Allah SWT sent verses of Holy Quran toward Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) in the cave of Hira.

Nowadays, Muslims visit this holy cave during Umrah journey. The inhabitants of Saudia can visit this site when they want but it is not easy for those Muslims who are not residents of Saudia.

They will need something to perform Umrah (for example passports, visas, flights, transports, and etc). The best option for them is Umrah Package because they can get all the facilities at a low price with the help of Package.

Allah has divided the whole month of Ramadan into 3 stages or ashras and each stage of Ramadan consist of 10 days. The night of Laylat al-Qadr comes in the last / 3rd stage of Ramadan. In normal days of Ramadan, Allah gives 70 rewards instead of one reward when anyone performs a good deed.

As anyone does a good deed in the night of Laylat al-Qadr then Allah says:

The night of al-Qadr is better than a 1000 months(Quran 97:3)

When this night comes in the Ramadan:

Hazrat Ayesha (RA) reported that the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) stated:

Look for Laylat al-Qadr on an odd-numbered night during the last 10 nights of Ramadan.”

(Bukhari)

This great night may come in 21, 23, 25, 27, and 29 because it is a mystery.

A beautiful hadith is narrated by Aisha (RA); “With the start of the last 10 days of Ramadan, the Prophet of Allah (PBUH) used to tighten his waist belt and used to pray the whole night, and used to keep his family awake for the prayers.”

(Bukhari)

Another Hadith about The Lailatul Qadar; In which, Abu Hurayrah (RA) reported that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH): “Whoever stands (in the voluntary night of) Ramadan out of faith and in the hope of reward, his previous sins will be forgiven. And whoever spends the night of Laylat al-Qadr in prayer out of faith and in the hope of reward, his previous sins will be forgiven”.

(Sunn an-Nasai)

People can get this night in the Itikaf. Our beloved Prophet (PBUH) spent the last 10 days and nights of Ramadan in the mosque for Itikaf. In Itikaf, Muslims offer 5 daily prayers, some extra nafls and recite the Holy Quran. So in this way people can get Night of Power easily.

Once, Hazrat Ayesha (RA) asked from Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him):

O Prophet of Allah, if I know what night is the Qadr, what should I say during it?”

He (PBUH) replied:

You should supplicate:

Allahumma innaka afuwwun,

Tuhibbul-afwa,

fa fu anni”

(Ahmad, Ibn Majah, and Tirmidhi)

Translation of this supplicate is; O Allah, You are Most Forgiving, and You love forgiveness, so forgive me.

It can be so amazing moment in your life if you visit the Al-Haram Mosque and Al-Nabvi Mosque in the last days of Ramadan during the Umrah. Maybe nobody has counted these rewards which are given by Allah in these days.

Most people want to spend the last ten days of Ramadan in the Makkah and Madina with Itikaf and Umrah. The price of flights, transports, and hotels are very high because it is a peak-season of Umrah. People can get help here from any trustable agency as Labbaik Hajj Umrah if they live in the UK.

People should essentially offer the Isha prayer and Fajr prayer in the mosque and they should offer the Salah of Taraweeh because in it you listen to the Holy Quran. So this act may a cause to get Laylat al-Qadr.

People should give Zakat and Sadaqa to needy people in the last days of Ramadan.

Ramadan is a great opportunity for all Muslims to get more and more rewards. We should pray from Allah to seek forgiveness. Those persons are lucky who get the night of Laylat al-Qadr in Ramadan. We should leave all bad deeds and do good deeds in this month.
