Step 3: USMLE Step 3 is known as the final stage of the licensing program. Although a lot of people opt for USMLE Step 3 after applying for residency, the IMGs may benefit if they appear for this exam before applying for the residency. Step 3 exam determines whether or not the student is able to understand the medical history of the patient, take care of the patient, and suggest the right treatment. There are 413 MCQs. Once the student cleared this exam, he/she gets a license to practice medicine.
