Dubai- SHEIKH your way out!

The Queen city of all the Emirates sees tourists all-round the year. There are exactly two seasons in Dubai- hot and hotter; but that doesn’t stop sun seekers from all around the world from flocking at her feet. Even though the footfall of tourists is quite high between November and March, the other time of the year also sees a scanty stream of pocket-cautious tourists. Several Dubai packages are available for you to choose your pick. None will disappoint you, rest assured.

Here’s a guide to help you with the best time to bow down before the Queen of Emirates:

November - March: This season being the season of Santa is the most ideal time to visit Dubai. It’s not cold, but neither is it scorching and blood-boiling; and that’s what makes tourists flock down to the Persian Gulf and absorb the turquoise waters and the pearly sands. Note to beach bums: expect occasional short-lived showers during the period of January to March.

And while you’re soaking up the sun and the sands, here are a few key events you cannot miss:

1) Al Marmoom Heritage Festival (March): This festival brings cultures from all around the globe in a gulf. It has a lot more to offer you than the Mary Poppins musical, Cirque de Cuisine, live music concerts and of course, the charm of the city.

2) Islamic New Year (October): Ring in the Islamic New Year- the Arab way. Take a trip downtown and admire the fireworks around Burj Khalifa and get a taste of the most celebrated eats of the country. We promise, you wouldn’t like to go back.

3) Dubai International Film Festival (December): This festival usually takes place over a span of eight days in the first or the second week of December. Arabic, Hollywood and even Bollywood movies are appreciated, applauded and awarded during this tenure. Is this something you would really like to give a miss?

4) Dubai Shopping Festival (January-February): This festival attracts more tourists than The Atlantis and the Burj Khalifa combined. With so much to offer in apparels, food and fashion, the burgeoning throngs of excited tourists cannot seem to get enough of it. This fest is the epitome of ‘Shop till you drop’.

April-October- Even though the hotel rates are on a slack and the shopping malls are less crowded and full of attractive deals, it isn’t really the best time of the year for a visit because the temperatures are as high as 100s and humidity, higher than 90s. It’s wise to bid adieu to this land of luxury during these months, lest you’re pocket conscious. Even though a day at the beach is unthinkable, shopping and other activities can be performed with a much lesser crowd.

The only attraction is the Dubai Summer Surprise which is about 6 weeks long, to celebrate summer and forget the whining.

With so many Dubai packages and deals to choose from, have you been to Dubai yet?
