new design wars challenge!

Hi everyone! :)

I will be participating in this week’s new Design Wars challenge! Exiting stuff! :) Last time I entered was in 2013 (my, time flies!) with my Dancing Hearts Wrap shawl design, using Red Heart Anne Geddes Baby yarn.

This year, I’ve made something else entirely. I can’t quite tell you what it is yet though; the release is scheduled for this Thursday, March 26th! :) But I can show you the yarn I used; it’s Red Heart Boutique Unforgettable!

I used this yarn in the following colour ways, from left to right: Polo, Cappuccino, Echo, and Meadow. Gorgeous, right?

I’ve actually wanted to play with this yarn for a while now, but just never really got the chance. Whenever I saw it on Ravelry, the colours just really caught my eye, and I kept thinking: ‘Oh the things I can create with this!’ Please tell me I’m not the only one who thinks things like that when she sees yarn? ;)

It was a dream to work with though, and totally worth the wait. It’s soft, it’s lush, it has a very subtle sheen to it, and the colours change ever so slightly – it’s mesmerising to look at while you’re working with it!

My design for Design Wars is for women (although you could totally make it for your guy too!), and it comes in two different versions. You will need 2 skeins for this design. The PDF (which will be available on Thursday in my Ravelry shop) has written instructions, a photo tutorial for the stitches used, and a chart with crochet symbols. Oh, and it’s suited for crocheters of all skill levels! :)
