Balenciaga Wedges Keep Your Ankles Happy

Lately, I’ve been looking for open toe shoes that have a wedge due to an Achilles tendon problem. Hard to believe but a wedge is the most comfortable shoe to help with this nagging ankle problem. While on my typical hunt for chic and comfy I rediscovered Balenciaga’s shoes and fell in love with their wedges. Although I haven’t been a fan of their handbags (passe in my book) for the last few years, I totally love their black leather mules and wedge sandals with the signature silver-tone studding. BTW…they do have some stunning new styles (it’s about time) of handbags this season…the Touch Small Boston AJ in cashmere beige and the Papier Zip Around Mini in black.

These slide on mules look great with skirts, leggings, and, of course, skinny jeans! (except I can’t comfortably get my butt in those so I prefer Amo Boyfriend jeans) Not only does the wedge help with ankle problems, they also look cool and instantly give height to your legs. The Studded Leather Mules feature a 3.5-inch wedge, a peep toe and of course they’re made in Italy. The sandals although stunning are a tad too high for me but totally edgy and super cool. The Studded Leather Wedge Sandal is 4.5 inches high and features an ankle strap with a buckle closure that helps to keep your foot in place. My pick (for me) is the mule.
