Helmut & Philo

In the 90s, Helmut Lang amongst others led a revolution with plain tailoring, neutral colors and natural hair and makeup. His clothes were made with sharp lines and careful cuts, creating basic but extremely elegant silhouettes in high quality and often high-tech fabrics. Sounds familiar? Phoebe Philo has often been compared with Lang as we remember him from the early nineties. Or as Style.com wrote after her Fall collection in 2010; The collection “exuded the calm sense of assured sexuality that adult women have been waiting for since Helmut Lang left the runway”. Not so far from the truth.
