Walk the Walk: Rodarte F/W 2015 Collection
When birds meet disco, what will you get? The answer is Rodarte F/W 2015 collection.
For this collection, the Mulleavy sisters put 2 non related elements together, and surprisingly, the outcome is spectacular. Many of the garments look very light because of the use of sheer materials and feathers. If you like fur, then you are going to love the dark blue fur/feathers coat here. Personally, I really love the metallic sequin stripes numbers because they truly reflect the energetic vibe of the disco era.
As usual, there is a very non commercial aesthetic in this collection, and I am sure a lot of people may not agree with me this is one of the highlights of the NYFW F/W 2015 season. However, from the editorial view point, there are just so many potential pieces for stylists to pick for upcoming fashion shoots.
Pros:
- It's an interesting concept of combining the birds and disco ideas into one collection. The end result is stunning with lots of great pieces.
- Love the last few looks of the collection. The metallic sequin stripes add energy to the garments.
- The asymmetrical skirt design is interesting, especially the one with the art deco flare.
- The boots are nice, should be a hit next season.
- I just cannot stop loving the blur fur coat, that is a stunning piece!
Cons:
- Not a huge fan of the lace leggings.
