Make This DIY Linen Eye Mask
For the best sleep of your life…
I’ve been having a bit of trouble sleeping lately so thought it was time to make something to combat the problem. Say hello to this gingham sleeping mask, naturally made out of linen. I mean, you’ll be no stranger to my love of anything linen – its softness and breathability make it the perfect fabric for jumpsuits, skirts, curtains, sheets and just about anything in between… Including this eye mask that’s guaranteed (I can vouch for it) to have you in dreamland before you can say… anything at all! I also love to take this mask on the plane because linen is just the right fabric to combat the cold air without making you sticky. I hope you enjoy this project as much as I do a good night’s sleep!
You can download the pattern here. Make sure to print it on your printer to 100% and you will have the right size.
Copy the mask pattern onto your fabric and batting, then leave a seam allowance and cut.

You will need to cut two pieces from the fabric for the front and back of the mask. Also cut a strip of fabric with a length that is 1.5 times that of the elastic you will put around the back of your head.

Sew the tubing for the elastic and turn it inside out, then insert the elastic through the tube.

Sandwich the elastic band in between the fabric pieces, with the right-sides facing together and the batting on the outside. Sew around the edges of the mask, but leave an opening. You will need to flip the mask right-way out through this opening in the next step.

Flip the mask right way out, and this is what it should look like. A tip from us? At this point you can also add some lavender petals, which will help you drift off.

Naturally, you can also use this tutorial to make an eyemask out of fabric that’s not linen, a nice satin or cotton would also work great. Do you guy have any good sleeping tips for me?
