Adoption Shower Party Idea’s for Baby’s AND Toddlers:

Baby Showers are of course wonderful moments in a mothers life where they can celebrate a child becoming a part of their family with family and friends.

Adoption can sometimes make having a Baby Shower Complicated but that doesn’t mean it can’t be done!

I was blessed with a Surprise Adoption Shower and was thrilled to feel the love and support from those that supported us as we waited to be matched for our first adoption.

Adoption Theme’s & Ideas:

Before you race off to check out all the beautiful photo’s below let me suggest a few idea’s of my own.

I LOVE the idea of making an Adoption Shower based on a storybook character and there are some GREAT QUOTES from childhood characters that could help you create a fantastic adoption party theme.

DUMBLEDORE: It matters not what someone is born but what they grow to be.

WINNIE THE POOH: As soon as we saw you we knew an adventure was going to happen.

THE LORAX: Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better, It’s not.

LILO & STITCH: Ohana means family, family means nobody get’s left behind or forgotten.

Alright….go ahead,

Or books for adoptive parents such as Twenty Things Adopted Kids Wish Their Adoptive Parents Knew

would make great gifts as well.

This canvas would make a special adoption gift as it’s words are a beautiful reminder that Adoption is full of Love & Miracles.

Adoption – Wrapped Canvas Print

from: DaySpring Cards Inc Something I looked for before we adopted our children was a baby book that was adoption specific.

This book is a Memory book for Adoptive Families – How cool is that!?!

Definitely something I would have loved to receive as an Adoption Shower Gift.

My Family, My Journey: A Baby Book for Adoptive Families
Another Helpful Adoption Gift would be to help with the costs of Adoption, but giving money doesn’t always look too pretty.

Bethany at the Happy Homemaker Me has a beautiful solution to this by giving the gift of money in a beautiful mason jar with a special message attached.

Happy Homemaker Me

Other Financial Gift Idea’s would be to make a donation to the orphanage the child was adopted through in their name or even help the adoptive family start an education fund for their child.

Adoption can be very expensive so some Adoptive Families don’t have the extra funds to add to important things such as future educational savings.

Finally my last Adoption gift idea’s are for the Crafty Bunch:

If you quilt perhaps you could put a silhouette of the country the child was born from & a silhouette of the country they now live in and stitch them onto the quilt. Put a heart on both countries with a whimsical line going from one heart to the other. Or maybe sew something similar on a pillow?

Or perhaps you could crochet or sew a doll that looks similar to the Adopted Child.

So that’s That! My Colossal List of Adoption Shower Idea’s & Adoption Gift Idea’s. Phew!

I hope it was helpful and has gotten your mind percolating!

Whatever party you end up throwing or gift you choose to give, remember that the most important thing is that the family sees you supporting them and their choice to adopt.

Love, Celebration & Support!
