2015 and books with book reviews

*this book contains affiliate links but as always they are of products and companies I trust and products I think you will enjoy.

I set a pretty big goal this year to read 52 books in 2015. That’s a book a week on average. Even for a big reader like me I knew that was going to be a big goal. It was important to me to read more this year because I know that the more you read the better writer you can become. It also inspires me and fills me with so many great ideas and topics that I might not have thought of. Which is why for my monthly goals I have said 3 or 4 for pleasure books and one business or blogging book.

I’m trying to broaden my horizon this year when it comes to books. That way I’m learning more and getting more exposure to new topics and writing styles. We are two months into the new year already though so here is where I stand with books. I’ve read 10 and am currently working on two other books. I’m ahead of schedule at this point and just need to keep reading so that I stay ahead of my goal. I know I can achieve it this year. Here are what I’m reading and book reviews of my favorites so far.

Right now the two books I’m reading are The Longest Ride

">The Longest Ride by Nicholas Sparks which I am loving so far. I like his books, they are just feel good love stories and I enjoy that. This one has particularly good characters. The movie comes out in April starring Clint Eastwoods son.

I’m also reading the The 12 Week Year: Get More Done in 12 Weeks than Others Do in 12 Months

">12 Week Year by Brian Moran. Which is a business book about how we should abandon the traditional model of setting yearly goals and instead have goals for 12 week periods. That way we are more motivated and pushed to get things accomplished. It’s an interesting book and once I’m finished with it I will try applying what I’ve learned and let you all know if it helps me achieve more and work better.

So far these books have been my favorite:

Big Little Lies

">Little big lies by Liane Moriarty: It is a story told by women who are mother’s of children at the same elementary school. You are aware that something tragic happens at the school’s trivia night but not what happened. The six months leading up to that night you get to know the characters and get bits and pieces of what happened. It was a good book and there were a few twists and turns which I enjoyed.

If you are a blogger you need to read How To Blog For Profit: Without Selling Your Soul

">how to blog for profit without selling your soul by Ruth Soukup. It is worth every penny for how much great information she shares and how much I learned in that book.

If you want to keep up with how I’m doing with my reading challenge and what I’m reading you can follow me on Goodreads here.
