April showers bring May flowers.

It`s not like a little rain could hurt us - especially considering the good weather we`v had here in Ireland, for the past few weeks. But it`s not the rain that brought me this gorgeous flower arrangement. For this, I have to thank a friend of mine. However, as much as I am grateful for this basket full of chrysanthemums and three little chicks, I must stress that I`m not a big fan of cut flowers. The amount of chemicals needed to grow them, and the fact that wooded areas are often cleared to make room for fields where these flowers are sown, have quite a negative impact on the environment. But then again, what human action doesn`t (note the implied sarcastic tone)? Yet because of the reasons stated above, and the fact that all of my family and close friends have been informed about my dislike towards cut flower bouquets, it is not often that I receive them at all. So I always try to make the best of it when I do receive them - so I paint them. I just hope that these flowers will still be alive by the time I`ll be able to do that, as I am so busy this week! But let`s hope for the best. Much love!
