China Glaze Glass Fleck – Operation: #BringBackGlassFleck

I’m on a mission, you guys, and I need your help! It all started during a recent #NailGlossip chat (next one is March 1st!), when I mentioned how much I love China Glaze Glass Fleck polishes and lamented that they haven’t made any in a while. That’s when #BringBackGlassFleck was born. And it’s popped up in my social media posts a few times since.

Fast forward to last Sunday. We hosted a China Glaze-focused chat and me and my one-track mind brought up my crusade for more glass flecks. I suggested that China Glaze host a fan vote to bring back popular glass flecks from the past. Now I’m looking for your support to convince China Glaze to make it happen. And to make more glass-flecks, in general.

China Glaze Glass Fleck

What is glass fleck? This question has come up a lot recently. I admit, in the world of nail polish finishes, it’s hard to nail down every definition but this is mine.

Glass fleck – A jelly-based, smooth glitter nail polish that is filled with crystal-clear and/or tonal glass-like particles. The base can be semi-sheer but buildable though in darker colors (Blk-Bila-Bong) they are more opaque. China Glaze Ruby Pumps is a classic, core collection glass fleck.

Here are a few of my fave glass flecks, pre-ALU and my all-time favorite China Glaze polish because, green.

Back in the day, China Glaze had a summer series called Babes In Toeland and they were filled with glass flecks. The Glass Slipper and Tequila Toes collections were a couple of my faves. Wicked Step Sisters, Martini Pedicure and It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere are from that era.

As sad as I was to see the Babes In Toeland series come to an end, it wasn’t the end of glass fleck. The China Glaze Surf and Summer Days collections were both summer releases featuring glass fleck.

And then, of course, there was the creation of China Glaze Emerald Sparkle for the Sleigh Ride collection. I still remember seeing the sample bottle of Emerald Sparkle for the first time. It’s a magical creation.

So, what do you say, people? Are you on board with my #BringBackGlassFleck campaign? Let’s let China Glaze know. There’s no guarantees but they brought back the Wizard of Ooh Ahz collection due to fan support.
