Soap & Glory's The Fab Pore Facial Peel

There is quite a lot of hype that surrounds Soap & Glory products. This is in fact the only one of their products that I have so far owned. The reason that I chose this as my first product was because I didn't have any face masks at the time. So thought it would be sensible to buy a product that I needed as well as trying out a new brand ( Bit behind the times I know) . So, what is this facial peel anyway?

This is a "intensive-action pore-refining facial peel". That's what the cute little tub tells us. It is supposed to minimise pores and help smooth out your skin. It is recommended you use this 2-3 times a week.

The packaging is cute, lovely use of colours and with all their packaging I do think they have taken a fair amount of inspiration from the high end brand "Benefit".

The product inside is a thick white cream with small blue beads. The smell is almost a musty mint. Which sounds weird but it's the only way I can describe it.

You are meant to take a small grape sized amount...

Apply it to your face, being careful of your eyes...

and then rub it in until all the blue beads have 'burst'.
Leave it on for about 10-15 minutes and then wipe if of with warm water and hey presto!
Now onto my opinion. I paid £8 for this over at Boots (where it is currently £6.00 on offer). So I wasn't expecting a miracle. The first thing I noticed when I applied this to my skin was the pain. It stung so much that I instantly had to wash it off, leaving my face very red. So I put the product to the side for a month in a huff and didn't touch it again for a good month. Then I decided I would give it another try, but this time try and get through the sting. I did. I left it on for 10 minutes and then wiped it off. It stung again due to me having very sensitive skin but at least this time I knew that it wasn't just a one off and that I had at least given the facial peel a chance. It did close up my pores a small amount and my face did feel smoother and softer after using it (even if very red). Obviously I won't be using this again or recommending this to anyone with sensitive skin and am now throwing it away but I do think I will try out some of Soap & Glory's other products just because the fact that I can't use this product isn't one hundred percent their fault, more so my skin. Overall, if you have sensitive skin, stay well away and save your money. But if not, then buy it, amazing little facial peel that, in comparison to a lot of others is very cheap.
