Are You Taking Care Of Your Hair?

Every time I sit in my hairdresser's chair I feel the guilt that comes with not taking good enough care of my hair. I'm a natural mousy blonde, though I bleach my hair quite a few shades lighter which means my hair can get very dry and damaged if I don't give it the TLC it needs.

As a beauty blogger, I am always trying new and exciting hair products, though I rarely stick to one thing, which in turn can mean I'm not providing my locks with the nourishment they require. I've tried more hair products than I can count, yet some of the best tips for healthy hair are often the simplest and the cheapest.

I try not to wash my hair too frequently as I find this can leave my hair crying out for moisture. I also try not to use too much heat on my strands as they can become quite dry and brittle with excessive use of heat stylers such as blow-dryers and straightening irons.

One of the most obvious ways to take care of your hair is to use products specifically suited to your hair type. This means not using heavy creams on fine hair or deep cleansing shampoos on dry strands. It sounds obvious but most people I know throw whatever shampoo and conditioner into their shopping trolley, often swayed by fragrance or a sale price without thinking about the effect it will have on their hair.

I wish I could say that I stick to a hair routine as strictly as I do my skincare regime, but for some reason I can't commit!

Do you follow a hair routine religiously? I'd love to hear what products you include in your everyday routine? Are there any hair products you swear by?
