Positive and Negative Circles

I’ve experimented a lot with Scratch Art papers, but haven’t found a project I really like until now. This uses Clear Film Sheets, scratched with a stick for the negative lines, and a thin black marker on cardstock for the positive. Both are traced while a circle template is held in place.

1. Cut letter size sheet of clear acetate to a 8″ x 8″ size. Tape, coated side up, to a 12″ square sheet of cardstock paper found at JoAnns or Michael’s scrapbook dept.

2. While holding a circle template in place, the acetate lines are scratched with a stylus, and any lines going outside are drawn with a thin black marker. Repeat until the sheet and border are filled. I got my templates from Laurie Speltz, The Creative Coach. She offers a teacher discount so you can get multiples for just $2.99.
