Cuppa reads

Greetings from the land of jet lag, reverse culture shock, re-entry, and general disorientation! We’ve been back in the States for about a week now, and yeah, these sorts of things always take longer with little kids in tow. It’s all good… we’re crazy grateful for our experiences this past year. Completely worth it.

I’ll also be sharing more in the coming months, including what we’re up to next—lots of you have asked. I’ll give you a wee hint: we’ll let you know when we know. We anticipated a bit of a waiting room period while re-acclimating to the North American atmosphere, so while we’re hitting the ground running in terms of research and brainstorming, we’re also settling in to those vinyl couches and back issues of Highlights magazine, waiting for our number to be called. All in good time.

In the meantime, here are your weekend reads—grab your cuppa and enjoy.

• Ann’s post is everywhere, and with good reason: everyone needs to read it. If you read nothing else for the rest of May, let it be this. Stop what you’re doing and read it. If you’re not completely undone, you can come back and read the rest. via A Holy Experience

• “Parenting is a blur of days, but then the years fly by. We all know that, but how do we account for it?” A lovely series of photographs and accompanying words. via Huffington Post

• Amber makes the most compelling argument for a wind chime I’ve ever read. I’ve got a soft spot for my fellow Highly Sensitives. via The Runamuck

• “When the ‘Yes’ stops, when the waters still, when you change directions? The fish will shout. The current becomes strong. …I am learning to accept the unpopular opinion, and I am building new muscles that make it a bit easier to swim upstream.” From Erin Loechner, a beautiful piece about living upstream (which, of course, I’m all about). via Design for Mankind

• And finally, Anne’s done it again—here’s the best 2015 Summer Reading Guide that I know. I follow her reading advice and so far, I never been steered wrong. via Modern Mrs. Darcy

“In the depth of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer.” -Albert Camus

p.s. – The top photo is from Monet’s Garden in Giverny, France. Take me back.
