Wear That Space: Hotel Edition

(ABOVE) The hotel’s central courtyard is one of my favorite spaces in the hotel. The courtyard is bright, and has such a beautiful array of plantings. The archways and tile work are the standouts in the space. The archways create a sense of glamour and grandeur while the tile work makes the space feel like you’re in Morocco. Tiles and Morocco is like cookies and milk–it just goes!

Welcome to ‘The Grand Hotel Nord-Pinus’ in Morocco. The moment you drive up to this hotel, you’re whisked away by Morocco’s beautiful Moorish design. What I find most impressive about this hotel is its super homey design. It doesn’t feel like you’re staying in a hotel, but rather someone’s home. There is a sense of realness and authenticity to this place. Perhaps it’s because, of the amount of details in the hotel, or maybe the overall relaxed feel. Take one of the guestrooms for example. The bed isn’t perfectly made. And the rugs are not all matching. This imperfect look, makes the hotel feel like you’re experiencing local Morocco and not the touristy-perfect Morocco. Unless of course the bed was just not made after a guest slept in it! Or take the center courtyard with the distressed wood table and potted plants. A central courtyard is synonymous with Moroccan design and this one does not disappoint! This hotel is the perfect ‘Wear That Space’ space. It’s full of punches of color and pattern, and feels relaxed and raw. Sounds like the perfect outfit…

(ABOVE) In the courtyard you’ll find this beautiful fountain. What I like about the fountain is how chic yet unassuming it is. It blends in beautiful with the space, yet stands out. What makes this piece stand out is the flower spout, material, and shape. I kind of want a sink in my bathroom like this!

(ABOVE) This quaint sitting area is also in the courtyard space. The furniture pieces here are phenomenal. I could see a dining room with those red chairs, or an office with that desk. This area is a good example of how relaxed and homey this hotel really is!

(ABOVE) I’m assuming that this is a restaurant area in the hotel. I’m a huge fan of all the sunlight in this space; and I believe the windows face the water! The lattice ceiling is such a unique idea. The reflection of the ceiling on the floor with the sunlight passing through looks so cool! What a great way of bringing light and design into a space.

(ABOVE) The stairs are the highlight of this space. They sort of remind me of the stairs in Brazil.

(ABOVE) This door is absolutely incredible, it looks hand painted. This door has two things going for it. Its beautiful, traditional, Arabic key hole design, and its brilliant colors. Against the white walls this door is a piece of art!

(ABOVE) This bathtub is perfect! I love the detailed white molding and tiles. The tiles are both unique in design and bring great color to the space.

(ABOVE) This hallway is another great space in the hotel. The area rugs and artwork make the space feel very cozy. The black floors ground the incredibly detailed ceiling and doorways. This space is a visual feast!

(ABOVE) All I can say is I need this bed. Between the beautiful brass detailing and perfect sheets I want it all! I love how the different patterns work together here. Don’t be afraid of mixing different patterns together! The brilliant red area rugs and rich yellow, white, and light purple sheets, work perfect together. If I could make an outfit out of any space in the hotel, it would be this space!
