Interview: Jamie Isaac @ Live at Leeds 2014


Live at Leeds was really awesome this year. We headed out with a plan that was all about being chilled, no rushing about like previous years. We wanted to pace ourselves and take it slow, enjoy the weather and pop in and out of venues at our own time. What really impressed us most was the crowd control was definitely much better this time round with the wristband collection point at Leeds Arena. The wide space meant that the queues weren’t crazy like last year at the Town Hall – totally adding to the chilled vibe. We just about missed The Witch Hunt when we arrived late around 2pm so the first band we caught was The Mexanines at the Cockpit. Think Kings of Leon with a saxophone and you’re there. After that in no particular order, we caught Jamie Isaac, Johnny Flynn, Drenge, Wolf Alice, The Bug and Fuck Buttons. But we’re going to focus this post on Jamie Isaac because out of all the bands we saw (most of whom we’ve already seen before anyway) Jamie Isaac was like the best musical discovery we’ve had that day.
