Hands-On Skincare

This post was not planned and just kind of happened, it was all down to these beautiful pink blush Peonies that came from my In-Laws garden. Aren’t they just beautiful? They smell incredible and I couldn’t resist snapping some pics.

Anyway I think you get the gist, I adore peonies I mean who doesn’t? Look at all those fluffy petals, they look like beautiful petticoats. A peony petticoat… oh yeah, now I’m dreaming.

So after falling in love with the peonies I decided to bring one up to my bedroom, the smell is divine so why not enjoy it all over the house? Once I placed my little vase on top of my jewellery stand I then thought oh good opportunity for a blog post.

I don’t tend to store my cleansing oils and balms in my bedroom, they’re usually in the bathroom because that’s where I use them. I do have my micellar waters in my bedroom but they’re in a little wicker basket. I like to organise and store my skincare on top of my jewellery unit so that it’s easy to find and of course it’s visually pleasing to any skincare junkie like myself.

Day
For day time I reach for the Melvita UHT Soothing Cream*, a lightweight hydrating cream perfect for sensitive skins. On days when my skin needs extra moisture I have the Organic Surge Nourishing Rose Day Cream* to hand. It helps calm redness, hydrate the skin and fight those fine lines.

Treatments
Elemis Pro-Radiance Illuminating Flash Balm* is a treat in a tube, a thick lovely scented balm that gives skin instant hydration and radiance. I use this when my skin is looking dull or tired. I’m sad to say this is almost finished as well! It also works great as a mask or apply under foundation for a dewy complexion. I use Dermalogica Skin Hydrating Booster* underneath the Melvita UHT Cream, it gives dry skin an extra hit of moisture with the added benefits of hyaluronic acid. A recent addition to the crew is the Fresh Seaberry Booster*, you can read my full review here. If your skin needs an extra boost you simply add 1-2 drops to either your eye cream or day/night cream.

Eye
At Christmas time I purchased a nice amount of the Chanel’s Holiday Collection and the consultant very kindly gave me a sample of the Sublimate La Crème Yeux Eye cream. Let me just say this is good, real good. A lovely nourishing creamy formula which absorbs very easily around the delicate eye area. Luckily for me I don’t have any fine lines appearing…yet! I do believe that’s partly because I really look after my eye area and am very careful what products I apply and how I remove my eye makeup. When I purchased the Serozinc offer Essentual kindly included a mini sample of the Caudalie Anti-Wrinkle Eye & Lip Cream a lightweight gel-cream formula easily absorbed and delivers skin with a powerful cocktail of anti-oxidants.

Extras
I reach for Serozinc either in the morning or the evening or both if my skin needs it, an amazing product by La Roche Posay for combination/blemish prone skin types. I have been using this since January when Escentual first stocked it and have since repurchased another 2 bottles from Escentual on offer £10 for 2!

Night
I am almost at the end of Estee Lauders Advanced Night Repair Serum, this huge 50ml bottle has lasted me 2 years, the consistency is very fluid like so a little goes a long way. I would definitely repurchase this in a heart beat. Whilst makeup removal comes under my cleansing routine I have been using up the Clinique Take The Day Off Makeup Remover for eye makeup. The dual phase formula needs a good shake before you use it, the oily substance is good for removing stubborn eye makeup.

How do you store your skincare? Do you have it to hand?
