Naked 3 Makeup Looks

Hello beauties! As promised, I’ve been putting the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette to the test. To show the versatility of the palette, I did 3 looks from the most basic to the more intense. I’ve named them Barely Naked, Half Naked and All Out :)) Here’s a sneak peek at the looks before I move onto my thoughts on the palette and how I achieved these looks:

The colors in this palette are really pretty, in fact, if you’re looking for a romantic Valentine’s Day look, these blush and pink tones would help you create gorgeous variations. I only used the colors in this palette, no other brands or shades. I also used the double ended brush that the palette comes with for all the looks (cleaning it in between colors) and I really liked it. One end is flat to lay the color down, the other end is fluffy to blend it all out. It’s just my personal preference that I’m more drawn to earthy bronze and brown tones but I like that this palette still offers subtle neutral shades with a hint of color. The only downside of this palette – as with the previous Naked palettes is the lack of matte shades. There’s only 3 matte shades out of the 12 featured in this palette and the lighter ones called Strange and Limit were way too chalky for my NC35 skin tone, leaving me only with Nooner to use as a transition/blending color – which is not enough. Nevertheless, I would recommend this palette if you’re after soft, subtle and feminine shades with the quality we’ve come to expect from Urban Decay eyeshadows.

LOOK 1: BARELY NAKED

NAKED 3 COLORS: Dust, Burnout, Nooner

OTHER PRODUCTS: Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner Demolition; Rimmel ScandalEyes eyeliner Nude; Lancome Hypnose Drama mascara Black; Shu Uemura eyelash curler

Place Dust on the inner corner of the eye, Burnout in the middle of the eyelid and Nooner on the outer half of the eyelid – blend the colors together until they merge seamlessly. You can intensify the shades as much as you like by layering the colors. Use Nooner to draw along the bottom lashline to create a soft shadow. With Urban Decay Demolition eyeliner (which is a dark matte brown), draw a line close to the upper lashline, slightly winging it upwards on the outer corner. Using the Rimmel Nude eyeliner, line inside the waterline for a bright-eyed look. Curl the lashes and apply 2 coats of black mascara.

LOOK 2: HALF NAKED

NAKED 3 COLORS: Burnout, Liar, Factory, Trick

OTHER PRODUCTS: Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner Zero, NYX Jumbo Pencil French Fries, Maybelline Master Precise Liquid liner Black, Lancome Hypnose Drama mascara Black, Ardell Half Accent lashes #301

Place Burnout on the inner corner of the eyelid, Liar in the middle and Factory on the outer corner. Blend the colors until they merge seamlessly. Using Urban Decay Zero eyeliner (which is a matte black), draw a line along the upper lashline extending the line to a wing. Using the color Factory, blend the wing portion of this line upwards until you achieve a soft transition. Again with the Zero eye pencil, draw a very thin line along the outer half of the bottom lashline. Go over this line with the color Trick. Use NYX jumbo pencil in French Fries to line inside the waterline. Coat both top and bottom lashes with black mascara; apply Ardell half accent lashes to the outer corner of each eye to elongate the eyes. Once dry, go over the top lashline with Maybelline Master precise liquid eyeliner in black.

LOOK 3: ALL OUT

NAKED 3 COLORS: Buzz, Nooner, Blackheart

OTHER PRODUCTS: Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner Rockstar, Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Liner Black, Lancome Hypnose Drama Black, Shu Uemura eyelash curler

Place Blackheart on the inner corner of the eye, Buzz in the middle and Nooner on the outer corner. Blend the colors until they merge seamlessly. Using Blackheart, go over Nooner on the outer corner until you achieve the desired intensity, keep blending. Line the bottom lashline with Blackheart. Line inside the waterline with Urban Decay eyeliner in Rockstar (which is a deep black/purple). Curl the lashes and apply 2-3 coats of mascara (or use false lashes). With your finger, dab the shimmery Buzz color to the middle of the eyelid to make this color pop. Draw a thin line along the upper lashline with Maybelline Master Precise liquid liner to finish off the look.

I hope these looks give you an idea as to how you can utilise the Naked 3 palette with looks ranging from the most subtle to the most intense, depending on your preference. I really enjoyed the Barely Naked look as it was clean with just enough shimmer and using the nude pencil in the waterline really brightened my eyes.

The 3 Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliners I used come in a pack named Triple Threat and you can get them HERE again using the code SCENT4U at checkout to receive 7 sample fragrance kit of your choice
