One Dress for Day & Night with J Cartel

As a nine-to-fiver and blogger in one, having the one wardrobe that can cater for both work and play is a must. It’s about shopping versatile and quality pieces, and then styling them cleverly to fit with every occasion. To show you how I do it, I’ve teamed up with the newly launched online boutique, J Cartel, to wear one dress from day to night.

The concept of J Cartel is a one-stop fashion destination for the modern professional woman, with her uniquely multifaceted lifestyle. Their collections are carefully curated to bridge that gap between work and play.

I’ve chosen the (appropriately named) Cameo ‘Daydreaming’ dress from J Cartel’s new collection for this editorial because it has a conservative design that’s appropriate for the office, and it also packs a bit of statement value. I love the modern cut and print, which, without being over the top, definitely turns heads. All that said the fact that it’s a Cameo dress already had me sold!

So here’s how I wore it from day to night.

Day: Blazer it

You don’t always have to wear a suit in the office, but that doesn’t mean you should turn up in a Ninja Turtles T-shirt either (true story!). My favourite work uniform is a dress and blazer combination – practically any dress can be made office appropriate with a bit of clever layering. Draping on the shoulders is also highly recommended.

Night: Just add a clutch

Here is where that bit of statement value comes into play. As the unique but pared back design of this dress speaks for itself, simply removing the blazer element and grabbing a clutch is enough to transform this outfit for after work cocktails. The flared skirt of this Cameo dress also adds just a little bit of playfulness.
