…to WordPress.org.
That’s right. I’ve finally made the decision to move the blog from WordPress.com to WordPress.org, mostly for aesthetical reasons. (Is aesthetical even a word? The red, squiggly line says no. Heather says who cares?)
AESTHETIC. The proper usage would be “aesthetic.” Aesthetic reasons. I could just delete that whole first line and you’d never know that I had a huge brain fart, but that wouldn’t be any fun, would it?
ANYWAY.
WordPress.com has been absolutely wonderful to me–it is a great blogging platform for novices and experts alike. I have no serious complaints about it at all. There are just some things I can’t do here due to WordPress.com restrictions, so I feel like it’s time to move on.
Starting late tonight, I will be transferring the blog to WordPress.org. What does this mean? It means the blog will probably look like crap for a couple of days. Heh. It may even take a few days for the blog to be up and running like it should be. I don’t know. I’ve never done this before.
DO NOT FEAR, though. Between the Covers will be back and (hopefully) better than before as soon as I can possibly get it there.
If you are a subscriber through WordPress or email, your subscription will be transferred without you having to do anything. This may take a few days, so I will not be posting anything for at least a week to be sure that everything is in order.
If you follow the blog through a feed reader of some sort, you shouldn’t have to do a thing as I’m not changing the web address of the blog at all.
I’m a little nervous about doing this on my own, but Susie (who is being generous enough to help if I have questions) has assured me that I won’t fail. I CAN DO THIS. I’m actually more excited than nervous. I’m looking forward to setting everything up and being able to do things with the blog that I wasn’t able to do here at WordPress.com.
WISH ME LUCK.
