Fall Scouting with Pottery Barn

Hi friends! So, I have been a busy bee over here with a few things I’m balancing. I’ll talk about that soon, but in the meantime…I did some fall scouting for a couple of things coming up and HEEEE-LLLLO Pottery Barn! I titled this post “Fall Scouting with Pottery Barn” but really I wanted to call it “Things in my house you guys ask for sources on and I reply they are from a flea market but never fear you can now get them at Pottery Barn”…

Too long? It still needs some “tweaking”…

When something is a vintage find around here, it usually means I grabbed it up for cheap while poking around at my favorite local hot spots. I buy what appeals to me and a lot of times it appeals to you too! Which is awesome, but then not so awesome when I have to reply “I found this at a flea market”. I can hear little hearts breaking all over the universe. I hate not having sources for things you guys really love. Well, never fear because my online stalking led to finding you guys some awesome look alikes and they are all at Pottery Barn. Pottery Barn is taking a super cool vintage approach to their fall line and I couldn’t be happier. Let’s do this!

NUMERO UNO

the coveted brass and marble accent table in our bathroom

Yes, that little brass and marble table has garnered quite a lot of inquiries. It is fab, I agree. It is one of the top things I get asked about. But, looky here…

Now at PB:

Leila Marble Top Side Table

Très similaire, non? I was so happy to see this little guy, because now I have a great alternative to share with you! I feel like I am Kris Kringle from the movie Miracle on 34th Street sending shoppers to another place to find what they want. Hey…I live on 34th Street…there might be something to that…ahhhh, too funny!

NUMERO DOS

the large-scale abstract art in my living room

Yeah, this one. The art behind our sofa is often asked about, and I painted it. I get asked to commission artwork from time to time. Unfortunately, in my present season, I just don’t have the time to work on paintings. I am seeing a trend of the gallery wall being replaced by large-scale art. I like both and I think there is a place for both, but if you are wanting to have a large-scale piece of abstract art…I have just the thing…

Now at PB:

Calling Out Your Name by Jacquie Gouveia

The new art selections at PB are really impressive this season. There are loads of large-scale pieces to choose from and lots of abstracts. Bonus, they have gold frames.

NUMERO TRES

The horn decor on our mantel

I realize not everyone has the budget to drop $350 on a small decor item. I was lucky to have a gift card and splurge on those babies. Sometimes you can get lucky and find them vintage or at a discount store like TJ Maxx, but it takes some looking and not finding if you know what I mean. So, if you aren’t able to spend a lot, I found an alternative.

Now at PB:

Horn Decor

Horn decor can give your space some high-end appeal and glamour. This one at PB is priced to go! $34.50!! I predict a sell-out on this item for that price. It even has the gold detailing like the ones on our mantel.

NUMERO CUATRO

the infamous horse head

This horse head was a flea market find and we negotiated down the price to hardly anything. D still wants to freak me out with a The Godfather ‘horse head in bed’ moment, but he has yet to wake up before me and pull it off. I love it, obviously…but I get how it may not be everyone’s cup of tea. I also find it comforting. If D is traveling on business and an intruder broke into our house, I could chuck that head at them and they are down for the count. (These are the things I lay in bed and think about when I cannot sleep.) It is heavy and can be used in a pinch as a weapon. It just adds to the appeal for me…hee, hee.

Now at PB:

Horse Head

See now…PB is hip to the decor as a weapon trend. I love their version and it is a pretty decent price point compared to the ones I’ve seen at other retailers. Home burglaries do go on the rise during the holiday season. Just food for thought. I may be beating a dead horse here…I can’t stop…sorry.

NUMERO CINCO

the acrylic tank tray in our bathroom

Our acrylic tank tray was a find at TJ Maxx. A lot of people asked for a source on it and were disappointed because they don’t live near to those stores. I’ve got just the thing!

Now at PB:

Acrylic Tank Tray

I love the shape of the PB version. They have a whole new line of acrylics for your bathroom for you to check out.

…and just because they are awesome

Something I have on my radar for fall in my own home…TORTOISESHELL. I am a big fan of this long stand-by in home decor. Tortoise glass is so gorgeous and a bouquet of white flowers in a tortoise glass vase…don’t get me started!! Pottery Barn has some new tortoise pieces and I want them all.

Tortoiseshell Double Old-fashioned Set

The barware is so chic and can be used as such OR I like the idea of using one as a vase.

Tortoiseshell Scented Candle Pot

The candle pot is scented with apple for the perfect introduction into the fall season. You can reuse it when the candle is spent and have a chic dish or vase.
