The Hidden Office with a Cloffice

Happy Monday!! You guys…this home renovation is about to get real serious here. Contractors, big changes a coming…I AM DANCING ON A CLOUD! D and I just made the decision to get it all knocked out. We are both working, traveling, and every spare moment has been doing DIY remodeling this last year. Don’t worry, there will still be plenty of DIY to share on the good old blog. Let’s just say… WE TIRED!! All this slow-going home renovation has really put a cramp in our style. We like to entertain and have a home that our kids’ friends can hang at. It’s hard to navigate around all the projects, supplies, and tools. It’s time to just get it done and live life. I can’t wait to share what is going to be happening here at Chez Bliss.

With the changes coming…I had to move my office…again. I know. Musical office. When will the music stop?! In about 2 months now! HE-eeeeey! Today, I am sharing my temporary office situation I cut out for myself. I say temporary because part of the new renovation is a real office. Now, I have a hidden office with a cloffice. How very Dr. Seuss of me! Let me explain…

My office desk has been moved to the entry way for months now. The coat closet isn’t really needed in the summer, so I decided to make it an office command center of sorts.

When we have people over my office is hidden and the entrance to our home just looks like an entry way. But, during the work day…it’s a full functioning office. I have storage in my Ikea Rast dresser (See the makeover HERE) for office supplies, camera equipment, and files folders. My printer fits on top perfectly. The compact Rast dresser works in this small closet. Since this will go back to a coat closet once the reno is finished, I left the clothing rack and just hung S-hooks on the bar to corral some everyday items. I also didn’t go crazy with built-ins or shelving since it is a temporary solution.

On the back of the door I hung a inspiration board. I really missed having one over the past year!

Having this organization will pretty much keep me sane over the next couple months of renovating. When the work day is done, I just wheel the office chair down to my son’s room. It’s nice to have a bright and cheery space to work in once again.

I can see this being a great solution if you are renting too and don’t have a ton of space to have an office.

Now, I am going to start planning, planning! I am in design happy mode and I am looking forward to having this all squared away in time for the holidays!

Have a fab Monday!
