SALE ALERT | BALLARD DESIGNS

from top left to right: MACAU | GRIFFIN | TOULON | LOUIS XVI | PARIS BISTRO | DAYNA

FRI-YAY!! This is an especially exciting end of the week because I have a vacation in my very near future! A much-needed vacation mind you! I was such a good little blogger and actually have all my posts done for next week. Which means I didn’t sleep much this week…I figuired I’d make up for it on vacation. As I was finishing things up, I was sourcing some chairs and I saw a sale at one of my favorite stores to get them at!! Ballard Designs is having a 15% off sale on everything. Some exclusions apply, but almost every single thing on their site is on sale. It’s a good time to get some furniture. You can save some moolah with that discount if you are shopping for furniture items. FYI–this is totally not sponsored, I just stumbled upon the sale and felt like I had to share it.

Have I told you about my chair problem yet? Okay, so I kind of blame the gene pool on this one. My Grandma on my maternal side, she is a stylish lady. She also buys chairs and lamps in abundance. Sometimes it’s like 3 of a kind. She has handed down this affliction to me in my DNA make-up. When God was putting Kristin together he said this one is going to battle wanting to buy all the chairs. Okay, I doubt God said that, but I have chairs in abundance too. I actually just put a few that I was not that crazy about on Craigslist. You know, the ones you buy out of need and budget restraints when you are first married. So, I am making way for yep…more chairs. I have the same problem with lamps too…I switch them out often. You should see my storage closet. No, you shouldn’t. It’s the scary Monica closet from Friends. Which totally got me thinking about movies and you know that scene in Knocked Up when they go to Vegas and Paul Rudd’s character did mushrooms and lines up all the chairs and talks to them. I totally didn’t think that was weird–the chair part. Anyways…

Some things are staples and never go out of style. Ballard Designs is a go-to for me because they carry some new versions of classics I love. If I can’t find it local at a flea market or shop I will opt for new. I also think they sell at a very reasonable and affordable price point and I like the quality. I’ve never met a Chippendale chair or bistro chair I didn’t like. And don’t get me started on the Louis chair.

With the holidays coming in a few months, I am thinking about stepping up my chair game. We could all just sit on the floor in a big circle like preschool, but I think I’ll add some seating for folks. Seems like the right thing to do. Oh, and that Macau or Dayna chair would be perfect for your living room or family room. It can even double as a dining chair for your holiday feasts.

The Paris Bistro and Dayna chairs also have counter stool and bar stool versions. I know, so good, right?!

PARIS BISTRO

DAYNA STOOL

Now, I want all the chairs…again. I am trying to decide between a pair of the Macau or Dayna armchairs right now. I’ve always wanted them for our living room. Which one to choose…what color…fabric…I need to make up my mind before the sale ends.

Pretty soon, like before the end of the year soon, I will be needing dining chairs, counter stools, another sofa, and more family room seating because that remodel we are doing is giving us a lot more living space. This is so bad for me and my chair addiction. So bad.

And now friends, I am signing off and going to go into relaxation mode. I have a line-up of posts for you next week, but just know I will be out of the grind for a little bit. I hope you all have had the chance or are planning to do the same before summer is over. Nothing like a little vacay to recharge for the busiest time of the year up ahead. The boys start back up with school and sports in a few weeks and I am treasuring these last days of summer fun.

See you Monday!
