My heart.

I finished redesigning my website last week, but am just now getting around to launching it. I'm proud of this one. (Still working out some kinks, just hang in there if things load slowly or look a little weird) I used all my own photos and wanted the site to be inspired by where I live - it's very California Cool and I dig it.

As a designer, I'm really restless when it comes to designing for myself. I think most designers feel that way. I'm constantly changing my mind and doing things quickly so I can just be done with it. But lately, I've been really intentional about my brand, what my mission is, and who I want to attract into my business. For so long, I worked on such a wide variety of projects with very different clients, and while that's great (especially when you're first starting out), my brand felt all over the place. Now that I've been doing this for a while, I'm growing and changing into the brand that feels most like me, and am starting to work on projects that really, truly fit my vibe. I think, in the end, it not only serves my business, but it serves my clients better.

I've been honing in on my dream clients, and really getting to the very heart of what I want to accomplish as a designer. Women inspire me SO much, I'm so proud to be one, and all I really want to do is empower them, in whatever way I can. I get emails from clients who tell me, "I just want to make my dreams come true, but no one will take me seriously" "I have this great business idea, but I don't know how to translate that to the web and I'm so overwhelmed" "I feel like I'm not good enough to make this business work." "I don't have what it takes." I just sit and stare at my inbox with tears in my eyes. Women are so discouraged, every single day, and aren't taken seriously because they're women. I deal with it all the time, it's something I could write about for days. I see women and the drive they have, the dreams they desire, and how brilliant and capable they are, and I want to champion that. I want to dive in to someone's idea, create something amazing with them, and help them see that they CAN do it, and they're worth it. They're so, so worth it. I will scream it from a mountain top, if needed!

This is my heart, and my mission. Work with rad babes, and create cool stuff. Empower the women around me, help them build their empires, rule the world and all that jazz. Cheers to that!
