4 Reasons To Clean Your Makeup Brushes And How To Do It
Taking care of the skin on your face is not only about washing it or keeping it hydrated. It's easy to forget about the things we're letting it touch every day: phones (use a headset), pillows (be sure to change them up at least once a week) and makeup brushes!
Here are 4 reasons to take care of your makeup brushes at LEAST once a week, preferably every day:

1. BACTERIA. Just think about the stuff that are picked up by your brushes everyday: makeup, dead skin cells, bacteria (that quickly multiplies), dirt and dust, oil from your skin.. the list goes on. Do we really need to say more? Obviously all these things increase the risk of your skin breaking out and only that alone is a great reason to maintain your makeup equipment.
2. EASIER & BETTER APPLICATION. It's way easier to apply makeup with a clean brush than by using one that has old dry pieces of products on it. This especially goes for anything liquid.
3. RUINING YOUR PRODUCTS. That bacteria we mentioned in the beginning goes to your makeup products that wont last as long as they would if you'd keep them clean from germs.
4. SAVING MONEY. The brushes will last way longer if you take care of them and stay soft and nice. Good ones aren't cheap and they can only be called an investment if you clean them often.
How To Clean Your Makeup Brushes
All you really need it a bit of dish soap and extra virgin olive oil as these together will both disinfect and dissolve dirty oils without drying it out. You'll need two parts dish soap for each part of olive oil.
Gently wash the brush downwards with your DIY cleanser under luke hot water (too hot might break up the glue that holds the brush together). Be gentle, you will notice not much action nor cleanser is needed to remove the dirt. Repeat until there is nothing but water coming off the brush.
Dry your brush facing downwards as this also is a way of avoiding to loosen glue that holds the brush together. A good setup is to take a towel, put something underneath half of it to raise it and then let the brush dry while facing down, letting excess liquids to go on the towel.
