Have you ever wanted to try sushi but weren't sure where to start or what you might like? Here is a basic guide that will help you understand the art of sushi.
First thing you need to know:
- Sushi is a combination of fish and veggies, with seasoned rice (special short-grain variety of rice, seasoned with a mix of rice vinegar, salt and sugar, called awase-zu. The rice mixture, is called shari);
- Not all sushi includes raw fish;
- Is served with wasabi and ginger

How to eat sushi:
- Not all types of sushi are eaten with chopsticks, but it’s actually recommended to eat certain sushi, like maki rolls and nigiri, with your fingers; (

Nigiri is traditionally eaten with your fingers. Use pickled ginger (gari) as a palate cleanser between bites, not as topping; Eat nigiri in one bite;
