MAC Sagu Eye Shadow Duo & Finishing Powder Swatches + Review // Julia Petit
One of the March MAC releases was a collab with lifestyle blogger Julia Petit. This collection brought us some killer lipsticks as well as three eye shadow duos and much more! I have two of the products in the launch to share with you today in the Prep Prime Transparent Finishing Powder/Pressed and Sagu Eye Shadow Duo.
The exterior packaging on the boxes and the products is still black but more sleek and glossy with MAC written in white and Julia Petit written in copper.
Sagu Eye Shadow Duo ($22.00 // MAC). Sagu contains two shades in Druzy (dirty mauvey purple, lustre) and Black Plum (deep blackened plum, matte). This duo was just a big fail for me. With MAC shadows the regular matte shades are really hit or miss for me and in my experience the lustre finish shadows tend to run even worse. To pair them together in a $22 duo is a game of chance that was, in this case, a loss. I found both shades to be dry and patchy, with Druzy being the worst offender. It’s a shame because the color combo is to die for! I wish they’d have paired Black Plum with a Veluxe Pearl version of Druzy. Be still my heart!
Prep Prime Transparent Finishing Powder/Pressed ($28.00 // MAC). This pressed powder swatches white but applies sheer. It’s so soft and feels silky smooth. This product is to be used to set makeup and reduce shine. I had major success with both and the pressed is perfect for travel!
