Textured Turtleneck

As soon as November hit, I felt myself starting to drift into a more relaxed state of mind. (Well, at least on the wardrobe front! Work during the holiday season is a different story.) With the temperatures dipping way down in NYC this last week and the holidays quickly approaching, I’ve been gravitating towards more comfortable and cozy separates. Getting out of bed when it’s freezing in the morning is a major challenge for me so the thought of wearing my softest sweaters definitely helps with the self-coaxing away from the snooze button. While some wouldn’t dream of wearing their white pants in November, I’ve been all about a soft color palette. Pairing white denim with neutral shades and luxurious textures, like this fabulous Theory turtleneck sweater I found at Nordstrom Rack, and an oh-so-soft faux fur vest, feels very seasonally appropriate. I’ve been appreciating a more minimalistic layering approach lately, nothing too fussy and nothing too complicated. A warm, textured sweater with a cozy fur vest is just right!

And since I’ve had holiday gifting on my mind for the past few weeks (ahem, twenty five days of gift guides!), I couldn’t help but notice all of the great gifts when I was recently shopping at Nordstrom Rack. I found the most versatile, quilted metallic Rebecca Minkoff bag for an amazing price when I was shopping at the Union Square location in New York. I wanted it for me, naturally, but I decided to buy it and save it for a gift for one of my girlfriends this holiday season. That’s a win-win in my book!
