4 Ways To Wear a Scarf – Inspired by the HP x360

This post was sponsored by HP and Meghan Trainor. All ideas and opinions are my own.
This month, HP sent me their new Pavilion x360 to try out and use for Brighter Sides! The x360 isn’t just a regular laptop. It has a touch-screen and can actually be used in 4 different positions or “modes”, which makes it easy to “bend the rules” and use it anywhere.

Of course there is standard laptop mode, but you can also bend the keyboard back and use it in stand mode, so you can stream movies and shows without worrying about the keyboard being in the way.

Or flip it over, and use it in tent mode – the mode I’ve been using the most. This mode takes up the least space, so it’s super convenient for referencing a tutorial/recipe, or streaming videos while keeping your desk space free to work other projects. I like to catch up on TV shows while I price and package vintage jewelry for my shop!

And you can bend the keyboard all the way back to use it in tablet mode, which is great for reading in bed or playing games. (Bruno is checking Twitter for me.)

Living in a teeny-tiny apartment in the city, I’m a big fan of things that are multi-functional. The 4 modes of the HP x360 got me thinking about one of my favorite articles of clothing, which is super versatile – the scarf! In my last outfit post I wore this big scarf classically wrapped once around my neck, but there are so many other ways to wear it! Here are 4 quick and easy ways.

The Infinity. You can wear a regular, rectangular scarf like an infinity or loop scarf. This is my go-to.
– Grab opposite corners of your scarf.
– Tie the corners in a double knot.
– Put the loop over your head.
– Twist and loop again. Repeat.

The Skirt. This is super easy and I love wearing big scarves like this as skirts. You could also fold it in half for a shorter skirt, or tie under your armpits for a dress.
– Just hold the scarf lengthwise at your waist.
– Tie the top two corners in a single knot and pull it tight.
– Knot it again, and you’re done!

Head wrap. There are a lot of beautiful ways to wear a head wrap, but this one is quick and easy! You can wear your hair up like mine, or down. (Don’t mind Bruno wandering around at my feet. He got worried that I was going to leave because I was standing near the door.)
– Fold your scarf in half lengthwise.
– Drape it over your head with the ends in back.
– Cross the ends in back and pull them forward.
– Cross again in front, and pull back.
– Tie a double knot in back. Ta-da!

The vest. This is a new one to me, and I think it’s so smart! You can also cross the front when you’re done and belt it to wear it as a dress!
– Fold your scarf in half widthwise.
– Fold in half again (like you’re folding a towel) and the 4 corners together.
– Open it up and you should have two loops.
– Turn it around so the knot is in back and slip your arms through the loops.

I hope you liked these ideas for wearing a scarf, inspired by the HP x360. HP is on the road right now with Meghan Trainor, creating a series of behind-the-scenes videos of her first tour! If you are a MT fan, be sure to check out the series and follow @HP for updates! You can even submit your own photos and video from Meghan’s tour stops to be submitted in the documentary.
