Outfit Of The Day: Pattern Mixing and Blogger Meetup

Last week I had the pleasure of meeting Hilary and Jenn, a couple of other Seattle area bloggers. We met up and took each other’s photos, had lunch at Jhan Jay (such yummy vegetarian Thai food!) and talked shop! It was really fun to connect with other people doing the same thing as I am, and be able to chat about the blogging world.

This was also the first time in almost a year and a half that I’d done an outfit photo. The last time I did, was when I met Jessa on my drive from Oklahoma to Washington and we took photos together. When I moved, I got rid of most of my clothes (and other possessions), so my wardrobe has been really limited, and since I’ve gained a little weight, a lot of what I do have doesn’t fit very well. That coupled with the fact that I no longer have someone on hand to take photos on a whim, just stopped me from documenting outfits altogether. But it was fun when I did do it, and I would like to more often!

For this shoot, I wore one of my favorite go-to dresses, this striped fit-and-flare knee length one with a slight hi-lo hem. It’s so easy to throw a cardigan (or in this case, my cropped knit motorcycle jacket) and a scarf on over it and feel stylish and comfortable all day.

I wear these boots almost every day, to work, going out, everywhere. Unfortunately, I think they’re not long for this world. I really love them, so I’m hoping to find another pair (they’re these ones from Target, but they don’t have black ones online anymore!) If I can’t get ahold of them in the store, I might go with these or these.
