My All Day Test of Estee Lauder’s New Double Wear Makeup
I have always been a bit of a late bloomer.
I didn’t pierce my ears until I was 22.
I starting wearing “girly” clothes when I arrived at college only because I quickly realized my high school boyish threads wouldn’t get me noticed.
Yet, I am still a major work in progress as I have *yet* to get my eyebrows professionally done. Oops.
After college I entered the corporate world and realized that I would need to start wearing makeup. It was a tough experience for me because at that time (12 years ago) it was so hard to find a shade that matched my skin complexion in the drug stores. The darkest shade was almost always too light.
With the invention of YouTube I have been able to find women of color that are just my shade that give me specific direction on what products work for us chocolate sisters.
Recently I was introduced to Estée Lauder’s Double Wear Makeup line. The makeup lasts 15 hours without fading. My days are usually long–they usually include planning a conference, attending events, being at my sons school or simply having dinner with a friend–my day starts when I leave the house at 6:30 and doesn’t end until maybe 8:00pm on a good day.
I visited the Estée Lauder counter at Macy’s Herald Square after work one evening. One of the beauty experts (Thanks Evelyn!) came to my assistance right away and explained the different Double Wear products that they offered. I chose the concealer and the foundation because that I what I am most accustomed to using on a daily basis. She sat me in her chair and went to work! The products she used were the Double Wear Makeup Stay In Place Foundation and the Stay-in-Place High Cover Concealer SPF 35.

The Double Wear Stay In Place Foundation and the Stay in Place High Cover Concealer SPF 35 are both very lightweight and I LOVE that because nothing is worse than thick piled on makeup. It blended with my skin right away, the perfect shade for my skin tone. I bought both items including the Double Wear Eyeliner because I am an eyeliner junkie. #noshame
Because I spent more than $35 at the Macy’s counter I received a really cool gift bag that came with load of goodies including mascara, moisturizer and a very pretty pink lipstick.

I even did a test to see how the makeup would last during a normal day. I took selfies throughout the day without retouching and I was quite happy with the results!
The Estee Lauder Double Wear makeup line is fantastic, light weight and it lives up to its name of being long lasting. I even got compliments while wearing it!
What I love about the line:
- It has 15-hour staying power. With the crazy non-stop life I lead, who has time to be touching up makeup several times a day?
- Won’t change color, smudge or come off on clothes. It feels lightweight and super comfortable on my skin.
- Fragrance- and oil-free, dermatologist-tested, and non-acnegenic which is fantastic for my acne prone skin.
