Peapod Makes Grocery Shopping Super Easy + a $100 Giveaway!
When it comes to household “tasks” Grocery Shopping falls squarely in my camp. Since I am the HCIC (Head Chef In Charge) it is in my very best interest to go to the supermarket because when I send my husband, well, it can be disastrous! Every single time I sent him to get meat he brings home something I would never pick up–it drives me crazy!

Last December you may remember when I took the family to go volunteer with PeaPod at a food pantry. I remember leaving there wishing that I had a good delivery service in my area because it would make my life so much easier. Well friends, dreams do come true because I am SO excited to announce that Peapod now delivers to the five boroughs! I was a little skeptical because being in south Brooklyn away from all of the major hubs I totally thought I would be ineligible–but I was!
The process was so easy. At first I didn’t know what to get usually I am so used to browsing the aisles and finding what I need. Sitting in front of a computer actually made things easier because I was able to logically think through my grocery list without going back and forth between aisles (anyone else do this?) I was able to purchase 2 weeks of groceries, set my delivery time to a 2 hour time frame on Saturday morning (the next day) and just like that my grocery shopping was done and I didn’t even have to leave my house!
Here are some additional points about the Peapod service:
- Peapod.com shows the running total of the bill as you shop so it’s easy to determine a budget and stick to it.
- The site sorts products from highest to lowest unit cost in each aisle so it makes finding the best value a breeze – you can also sort by health criteria.
- Avoid impulse buys – since there’s no check-out line, there’s no temptation to buy that candy bar or celebrity magazine (unless you want one!).
- Peapod doubles manufacturers’ coupons and offers a variety of budget friendly store brands like Nature’s Promise and Simply Enjoy.
- Guess My Order (Called Order Genius on the new mobile app) can auto-fill your cart with the items you buy most frequently and even recall shopping history from Stop & Shop or Giant loyalty reward cards.
Yes I will definitely be using Peapod–especially the mobile app for my grocery shopping–it gives me back a couple of hours of my day and a whole lot of convenience!
I received my items smack dab in the middle of my two hour window. All of the dairy, fruit and meat was fresh and all items were included. The driver was super nice and I was able to unpack my groceries within minutes and get back to my day. Perfect.
