A few weeks ago I was invited to try out Whirlpool’s new portable water filter called EveryDrop and as a part of the event I was able to attend one of the hardest workout classes that I have taken all year–that says a lot because I have taken a lot of classes this year!
As we walked in, we were greeted by “Tall glasses of water” serving freshly filtered water to keep us all hydrated. Yes, Thank You. We tend to forget how important hydration is to our daily health, and Whirlpool has created a new product that can help keep us hydrated properly on the go.
The fitness class was taught by the legendary Taryn Toomey who is known not NYC for “The Class”–one of the most intense 75 minute workout experiences in Manhattan. She has taught everyone from celebs to–well–me :). When I arrived at the Chelsea loft and saw yoga mats, I was ready to get my “om” on but I would quickly realize that this would be no calming yoga class, it would instead be a different kind of release.
Taryn was all about getting you to getting out of your own way. We did a lot of deep breathing, a lot of air punching, arm dropping, mixed in with traditional cardio such as jumping jacks and burpees. We did (what seemed like) the simplest moves yet, it set every muscle alive. I didn’t quite know how she did that but the entire overall experience was unlike anything I had ever done. I felt incredibly centered and focused when I was done, even though my muscles were crying for mercy. Taryn did a phenomenal job of keeping us mentally engaged while giving our bodies a proper beating. It was quite amazing. Check out a partial description of her amazing class.
Exerpted from Theclasswithtt.com:
motivated by the deep release the mind receives from pushing the body to its limit, taryn toomey applies her in-depth understanding of proper body alignment and physical training to a new fitness approach that changes the body and clears the mind.
throughout her fast-paced workouts, taryn teaches students to focus on the sensations in the body: address the feeling, breathe deeply allowing the change to happen and actively calm the minds response to intensity. in addition to building physical strength, this approach transforms one’s overall inner conversation. students build their mind-body connection and find strength they did not think possible.
Then we got to learn more about the amazing new Whirlpool portable filter called EveryDrop. I can’t even tell you how many times I have gotten water from the gym fountain and gagged over how bad it tastes. I consider myself a bit of a water snob (what? You didn’t know this water snob title existed? Well it does. I am not only a member of this club, I am the president!) so I absolutely need my water filtered at all times.
The EveryDrop filter is easy to put on your gym bag and it filters water super fast so you can get right to your workout. There is even a cute carry case for it too. Since it is incredibly light and small you can throw it in your gym bag and not miss a beat! The EveryDrop water filter retails for $19.99 and its available at most major retailers.
The event ended with a out of this world breakfast from Chef Gabe Kennedy who was so awesome and adorable! I am not a foodie because of my diet restrictions but his breakfast was so good I needed to slap someone’s mama. In addition to being really sweet, he took time to get feedback from us too. Come to find out a few days later he would be on the popular cooking show “The Taste” and make it past auditions!
It really was a fantastic morning and I am grateful to Whirlpool for the experience.
