Grayson and Emma. First love. True love. And… they have a daughter. Abandonment is his curse. He left his woman, survived his team, and missed the moment most precious to a father. Until now.
“I didn’t know you were killing yourself with work. I didn’t know you’re raising our daughter. So help me God, had I known, there is no military force on earth that would’ve kept me from you.”
Love needs to heal all, or they won’t survive the collision of their separate lives. Emma must reach deep into her heart that is barely hanging on and find forgiveness. Grayson, wrecked with PTSD-filled nightmares, must prove that he’s here to stay and able to rebuild his family against all odds.
“I need to say I love you. But what I mean is I love you–in a way that defies definition and exists only in a world that you and I are in.”

Review

Gah! This series is so good! The feelings that the story brings out in you are genuine and have you kind of all over the place. For some reason I keep picturing the main characters much older than twenty one years old but then I get reminded and I’m like “gosh they’re still babies themselves”. And that makes the feelings that they are feeling so much more intense. This was again the same format of dual points of view of Emma and Grayson and this is the third novella in the Only series and cannot be read as a standalone.
This novella started right where the second one ended. My heart was in my throat for both Emma and Grayson at the beginning of this novella! But ohmygoodness was I excited for Cally to meet her daddy. Honestly that scene could have not been more perfect! My heart just expanded for them and made me say aww!! But then again stupid Cherry, Emma’s older sister, had to be an ass and screw it up a little bit.
Throughout this novella it really showed that even though Emma and Grayson are together not everything was fine and dandy. They still had to deal with her family and it was not all rainbows and unicorns. But Emma and Grayson also proved that they were going to make this relationship work no matter what. I definitely liked the realism in this part of the story. I understood where her family was coming from with their concern for her wellbeing but at the same time there are boundaries that shouldn’t be crossed. But hot damn I liked Emma’s mama!
I’m still a little scared at how Grayson is going to take the news of Emma’s second job…especially since that situation is what this novella’s cliffhanger centered on! Pretty much like holy shit…Grayson is going to freak the hell out!! UGH! I really don’t want this series to end!! I like these types of story formats but at the same time I feel like I need five to ten novellas to really satisfy my need for a full story line. Ultimately this is another great installment in the Only series. I’m excited to see where this author takes this story next! Hopefully she decides to extend it for a couple more novellas!!
