Whenever I Wear This Perfume, Everyone Always Asks Me Where It's From

As far as perfumes go, I'd say I'm pretty tricky to please. Okay, so yes, I've fallen victim to the uprise in woody, musky scents (read: what you might traditionally call "manly" smells), but I also like it to have a hint of sweet florals or freshness infused beneath those musky tones. It wasn't until I discovered Experimental Perfume Club and created my very own perfume that I found my signature scent. And as it turned out, everyone else seemed to love it just as much as I did. Every day I spritzed it onto my skin I'd get at least two compliments. And while you can't go and re-create my scent (sorry), EPC now has its very own collection, Layers, stocked in Liberty of London so you can easily blend your own.

Founded by Emmanuelle Moeglin, Experimental Perfume Club is a working perfume creative studio based in East London. After working in the fragrance industry for over 12 years, Moeglin decided to bring her own knowledge to the perfume world and launch her very own experiential perfume studio. The premise of the studio is you can book into a workshop and create your own fragrance in a beautiful environment. It hosts regular monthly perfume-making workshops, as well as one-to-one private consultations.

The collection is completely unique in that you can wear each signature scent alone or you can layer and blend them together to create your very own at-home experimental perfume experience. The collection consists of three scents, Bergamot (£95), Jasmine (£95) and Sandalwood (£95), with each layer representing a top, middle and base note.

Each scent is unique, but blended together, they create a harmonious personal scent. You can buy all the scents in the blending collection for £90 and a blending bottle for £15.

I was instantly drawn to the sandalwood with its earthy, intense texture and lingering freshness—and I'll be honest, I haven't stopped wearing it since (alongside my personally blended one, that is), and I regularly get compliments on both. Try it. No doubt you'll have a similar experience.
