Paris: Shopping at Erborian Paris Boutique

I began noticing Erborian Paris-Seoul Korean Skin Care Therapy both at Sephora, and numerous Parisian beauty stores. According to Erborian, According to the line, its laboratory in Seoul formulates gentle, effective skincare that are based on Asian beauty rituals.

Erborian continuously innovates by offering surprising, unprecedented, ground-breaking products, vehicles for “intelligent beauty”. Our exclusive formulas, developed by our laboratory based in Seoul, use the most advanced technologies, at the cutting edge of the cosmetic industry. These intriguing formulas rapidly deliver active ingredients, for ultimate benefits. Erborian combines the most sophisticated technologies with high-quality ingredients derived from Korean herbs, to create innovative and exclusive formulas that reveal luminosity, radiance and younger-looking skin. Inspired by ancient Korean traditions, Korean herbs have a dual advantage: they are incredibly effective as they are exceedingly pure, but they are also very gentle and very well tolerated.

I stopped by the Erborian Parisian Boutique on the Avenue de L’Opera just near the Opera Garnier. This line is based on three fundamental premises: Detox, Boost and Finish…Because Erborian’s offerings at many local US stores are rather small in size, I took numerous photographs in the boutique so that you can get a better sense of their full range of products.

The store included some scented candles and other giftables:

Sink area surrounded by cleansing products.

Some of the finishing products are here including, the BB and CC Creams, as well as the Pink Perfect Primer:

Some lovely skincare re-charging products.

The Erborian anti-aging line includes some of the products below. These are getting some very positive reviews on Sephora, and makes me think that I should have explored these a bit more than I did:

Please feel free to click on any photo for a close-up view.

Erborian’s Blanc, the brightening products are also here. I got a few sample packets of these:

I picked up this small kit that included the try-it sizes of the Perfect Primer, a small CC cream in light, and a few skin care sample packets (29 euros).

The back of the kit has duo-language explanations:

These travel mini’s and packets are a nice little intro to some of the products. The store also carried mini-sets from the skincare lines as well.

The CC cream is also available in a medium/deep shade. The product comes out of the tube as a white cream, and then stabilizes into a color match as it is buffed into the skin. In other words, it shifts into color-coverage mode like magic.

I really liked the Erborian Perfect Pink Creme (not yet sold in the U.S., but available here at Selfridges) primer. It was very light, and seemed to fill in pores and imperfections (not as dramatically as Yves Saint Laurent’s new Touche Eclat Blur Primer), but in a very natural, light way. Ingredients for the Pink Perfect Creme:

I’ve only had one chance to try out the combination, but these are some preliminary thoughts. The Erborian CC Cream ($44 for the full size) does have a lovely, flattering color tone that looked beautiful for the first several hours of the day. The color correcting properties are very nice, and the finish was beautiful. I did experience nice color correcting properties. It has a lovely, moisturizing finish while still feeling very light. Note that although I set the powder with MAC Pro Longwear Powder, the CC Creme started to shift a bit and break down after 9-10 hours. Please keep in mind that our temperatures are hitting over 100 degrees, so the conditions were not ideal. Ingredients for the CC Creme:

Here are swatches (you can see that the CC Creme starts out white, but blends down to a nice light N15-ish color tone:

I’m excited to try out these lovely little samples, but haven’t as yet.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this little walk through Erborian. Before walking into the boutique, I knew nothing about them but am beginning to become curious about their ginseng products. You can learn more here at the Erborian website.
