Gleeful Pinwheels!

Hello friends! It feels so good to be back in this space. My family and I just got home from a two week vacation in Oregon (which was INCREDIBLE) and I’m catching up on real-and-blog life. Today I am THRILLED to be a part of the Gleeful fabrics Blog Hop, by Caroline of Sew Caroline. (Go to her blog now. Isn’t she adorable?!) These are her beautiful new fabrics. So happy and gleeful!

I make a lot of clothes for my kids, but not many items they can use for their whole lives. Abby’s dresses from two years ago, while adorable, are out of commission now until she has children of her own and can use them again. That’s why I thought it would be fun to make her a pinwheel quilt for her new bed. My grandma has a ton of quilts and blankets she made decades ago and they are still in use. I’d like to start making more of them for my own family. Hence, the Gleeful Pinwheels Quilt!

It’s still a WIP (work in progress), of course, but I’m so excited to show you the beginnings. For the Gleeful quilting cottons line, Caroline created eight gorgeous prints on high-quality cotton. You can buy them all here (from left to right):

  1. Charms Abloom in Berry
  2. Preppy Fleurs in Navy
  3. Springs Breeze in Multi
  4. Cheerful Echo in Teal
  5. Springs Sun in Multi
  6. After the Rain in Navy
  7. Lively Buds in Gleeful
  8. Untangled Ribbons in Multi

My favorite print is the one in the pinwheel below, called Cheerful Echo in Teal. Isn’t it cheerful, and fun, and beautiful? I want to make ALL THE THINGS out of Cheerful Echo.

I think this will make a beautiful, gleeful quilt for my little girlie, don’t you? I’m so thankful to Caroline for including me in the tour and sending me these beautiful fabrics to use! Thank you so much, girl. You are an inspiration and it’s been such a joy to watch you release your first fabric collection. May the great work and inspiration continue!

And for all of you reading, thanks so much for being here. I know it’s been a spotty summer for posting, but I’ve been finishing up the Desert Rose dress pattern behind the scenes (and traveling) and this mama is taking her sweet time while enjoying the summer with her babes. You’ll hear more from me soon. Love you all!
