Brotherhood of Blades (2014) (English)

We follow three assassins who works for the Emperor of China. These three are good friends, they are always by each other side, but one of them makes a wrong choice and suddenly they and the people they care about are in danger.

Brotherhood of Blades is yet another mediocre Chinese period film directed by a debutant who don’t have the greatest talent. The problem with the film is that it can not be more generic. The characters are empty, you never get to know them, which is the film’s major weakness.

Then we have the useless ladies in the film. Once again we get served lousy romantic drama in which women have even less personality than the central characters in the film, I didn’t think that was possible. It’s so empty and dead, why should we as viewers care about the characters when the film fails to build up the characters? They are walking zombies!

The action sequences are decent enough, but it’s not that impressive. Brotherhood of Blades is so empty, true feelings is absent and one has to wonder why one chooses to make such films like this.
