July – Goodbye

Photo a day challenge July 31

I am still here so that is something to be grateful for and therefor not goodbye but onwards and onwards we go hopefully without too many spikes and even more hopefully a steady trend downwards as far as the pandemic is concerned.

So, reasons to be cheerful:

  1. Family First….my inner circle of strength that keeps me going…my wonderfully supportive children…my amazing Father who is about to celebrate his ninety eighth birthday….my delightful, amusing, and surprising grand children..who never fail to amaze me with their slant on life and ability to speak the truth without fear of retribution!
  2. My Friends and colleagues, again supportive and reliable and an important part of my everyday life.
  3. My Garden….this place has given me so much joy these past months and especially during July when my giant alliums finally blossomed, my agapanthus burst into luscious indigo star bursts..and the hydrangeas in their hues of blue purple and pink. Simply gorgeous.
  4. My art practice….has slowed down somewhat recently, but it has been a good time to reflect on what is important in my practice and my life in general. What have I missed most of all…to begin with contact with my family, and then contact with the outside world, interaction with other artists and visiting exhibitions, which are always stimulating and thought provoking and often lead to a burst of activity in the studio.

  • So farewell July and welcome August..looking forward to a family get together to celebrate Dad’s Birthday and the fact that we are all still here – healthy and cheerful!
