Pit Stop in Mobile Alabama (and Battleship Park!)

Road Trip Notes (pt 1)

Day 1) Tampa to New Orleans! Today we left Tampa, started playing the Gorilla Car Game, and listened to our road trip playlist. The playlist basically consists of Ricky's favorite 90's hits. Now "Africa"... but it's the Relient K cover version.

We stpped at our first rest stop and saw a school bus with the top cut off!

Ricky will not be lead gorilla for long! We're passing by Tallahassee now so we're going to stop and see Florida's capitol building. City hall was cool but the weather was NOT- so we went to Dairy Queen to get blizzards to re-energize. Leaving Tally we drove beside a truck bed bird mansion. I mean TONS and TONS of bird cages and (sort of hopefully) little birdies! Due to some gorilla snatching Sarah is currently winning the gorilla game.

6:00 PM Spotify shuffle favors Justin Bieber a little too much.

5:01 PM Woah, the time changed.

5:20 PM ALABAMA!

7:14 PM We changed into proper clothing to explore the downtown area of Mobile Alabama. Bama seems to be equally as hot as Florida.

Mobile's downtown area is sort of charming. It was deserted though and a lot of the shops were closed or abandoned. That was a really cool thing when it came to taking pctures. We found a big green door leading to an empty lot.

We ate a delicious mediterranian grilled cheese sandwich (Sarah) and chicken pita (Ricky) at Mediterranean Sandwich Co. where we found these awesome ice/drink puns:

1. Modified bus at a rest stop. We actually saw a lot of buses that were butchered like this!

2. Our first glimpse at downtown Mobile, Alabama.

3. Cute vine overgrowth on a building. A lot of the businesses around here were closed. :/

4. We really liked the architecture of the buildings here. Ricky and I took turns mapping out our future homes in these brick buildings above businesses.

5. Another pretty building.

6. Ice Cube! Found this gem at our grub stop at the Mediterranean Sanwich Company. By the way, if you ever go there they have a killer greek grilled cheese. Seriously genius sandwich creation.

7. :)

8. Battleship park! We didn't actually stop here because we had a hard time figuring out how to actually get in, but we saw this ship from the interstate. Oh nostalgia. We're going to have to find that game somewhere.
